When I painted this scene at end of summer, my field was delightfully overgrown with joe-pye weed and golden rod. The very next day it was it was all cut down.
“My current passion is painting en plein air using oil paint and acrylics. I have discovered splendid areas of the Pioneer Valley which were unknown to me before and have experienced in them the joys of painting outdoors on location. My paintings have become a visual journal of these experiences. Painting has also deepened my connection with the local landscape especially through exploring water themes. I have become facinated by the qualities of water in nature, including its power, stillness, reflective qualities, and transparency which is the main focus of my recent paintings.”
